Abstract

The high costs to go to college is not an obstacle for those who want to continue their education. Their high motivation to learn and the ability to manage their time for those who work is certainly not a barrier anymore to continue their education and academic achievement are expected.This study aims to determine the relationship either partially or simultaneously between learning motivation and intensity to work with students' academic achievement Economic Education Department in STKIP PGRI Lumajang. Respondents in this study are students Economic Education Department in STKIP PGRI Lumajang with the calculation of the sample reached 59 students were taken by proportional random sampling method. The research method used is quantitative with correlational approach. Data collection using observation, questionnaires and interviews. The analysis technique using product moment correlation test of Pearson. It was found that a). Student learning motivation Economic Education Department STKIP PGRI Lumajang relatively good but has a low degree of correlation with the direction of a positive and significant relationship with students academic achievement variable, b). The students work intensity of economic education department in STKIP PGRI Lumajang relatively high levels of low correlation with the direction of the relationship is negative but still significant to the students' academic achievement, c). Simultaneously there is a positive and significant relationship between learning motivation and intensity of work with student academic achievement Prodi economic education in STKIP PGRI Lumajang. Based on the research results, it is suggested that researchers could find a method of learning that is more effective because the majority of students STKIP PGRI Lumajang work while studying. The lecturers can deliver the lecture material by methods appropriate to the character and learning styles of students in tune with the students that the majority are college while working and students as subjects who are directly felt in this study may provide feedback to the lecturer of the course particularly well as STKIP PGRI Lumajang in general.
