Abstract
The concentration
in student learning influences on the result of student learning. The
concentration in student learning on the teaching learning process today can be
said less and less. Many factors that influence student concentration, they are
the factor from the students and from the teacher. Learning using the conventional
method such as speech, it makes the student boring, and they have no attention
and no concentration in teaching learning process in the class. This condition will influence to the result of student
learning, whereas the score will not be able to fulfil the minimum creterion of
learning mastery (Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimal/KKM). The teacher’s factor such
as he/she does not elabo-rate his/her skill in using
media or using the learning models. In teaching learning proces
if the teacher does not use the learning models as good as he/she can, the
students can not concentrate so they think that learning Biology is just
memorize the material and they think that Biology is the difficult lesson and
not fun. The material of characteristic inheritance is abstract
and it which is considered as difficult material, especially on application of Mendel Law on the process of characteristic
inheritance. One of the effort to interest the student to learn and to improve
their concentration in learning in the classroom is using the picture media
that is usually called as picture and picture model. The finding shows that there is improving the students’ concentration and the result of their learning in two
cycles. The improving of concentrations used indicators about the student
responses in teaching learning process. In cycle one , it was found from 32
students, there was 4 students were very good (12%), 11 students were good
(34%), 10 students were good enough (31%) , and 7 students were poor (22%). In the
second cycle implementation it could be improved of the students’ respon ,
there were 27 students were good (84%), 4
students were good (12%), one student was good enough (3%) and there was no
poor student (0%). This improvement of
learning result from 32 students at the first cycle could reach the teaching
learning process although 18 students (56%)
did not reach the teaching process classically but at the second cycle 29
students (91%) reached the teaching process classically.
