Abstract: The purpose
of this research is 1) to analyze mathematical understanding of students in
solving math problems by using SPUR multidimensional approach which is related
with error on direct object of mathematics in the form of facts, skills,
concepts, and principles, 2) to know the level of mathematical understanding of
students of class X IPS 2 and X IPS 3 by using SPUR multidimensional approach.
This research uses descriptive qualitative method, the subject of research are
35 students of class X IPS 2 and 35 students from class X IPS 3. Error student
work is analyzed by linking to direct object of mathematics. The results showed
1) In the analysis of the level of understanding of mathematics students of
class X IPS 2 and X IPS 3 can be seen that the problem of dimensional
understanding of mathematics Skills and Properties is the dimension with the
highest success rate of 50.00% and 41.42% respectively, 2) The most common
mistakes experienced by students in both classes occur in the direct object of
mathematics in the form of concepts and principles.
