Abstract

In addition to improving the quality of education students’ family environment factors, there are also other components that can affect the quality of education that is the study habits of students in the learning process. Student’s ability to absorb knowledge and understand it also depends on the study habits of students. If the family environment and study habits that occur at home and at school either, it is possible to improve student achievement. This study aims to determine the effect of family environment on learning achievement, the influence of study habits on learning achievenment, and the dominant influence of family environment and study habits of learning achievement in the subjects of accounting students in class XI IPS SMA Negeri 1 Batu. This study is a quantitative study using multiple regression analysis. Data obtained by distributing questionnaires and documentation in the form of odd semester exam scores. The results showed that: 1) there is a positive influence on family environment learning achievement in subjects Accounting, 2) there is a positive influence on study habits of learning achievement in subjects Accounting, 3) there is a dominant influence between family environment and study habits of learning achievement in subjects Accounting. According to the study recommended that (a) to support the creation of good study habits and comfortable, the school should create regulations that support the learning process and provide a supportive atmosphere and the completeness of a learning tool so that the students enthusiastic about their studies, (b) students should be able sort out the good from the bad influence of the surrounding environment and could face the influence. Students should also help teachers to make learning a fun process occurs in order to learn good habits so that students easily understand the material and can improve academic achievement.
