Abstract

The results assignments / homework shows that students  SMP 7 Jember difficulties answering questions solving problems related to everyday life. This is students not interest to the teacher’s explanation. Teachers are still the dominant use is teacher-oriented learning with lecture and assignment. Therefore to give a different feel and increase student interest and learning outcomes in mathematics especially quadrilateral swift materials. Problems formulated in this study “How the application of quantum teaching methods through the contest swift designs on the material quadrilateral swift students at class VIIA  SMP 7 Jember?”. Study subjects all students class 7 VIIA SMP Jember some 40 students. Data collection instruments used outcomes tests and observation to see made in the researcher’s own motivation. The results using the analytical thoroughness of learning outcomes, found the average level of learning outcomes in all aspects of contest swift design assessment (the average value of psychomotor) of 85.33%, the average value of repetition in cycle 1 was 70 with 67.50% completeness. In the second cycle the average value of 76 with 80.00% completeness. Thus an increase in the average value of test results was 6 poin and classical completeness of 12.5%. As such mathematics learning material quadrangle swift with Quantum teaching method through design contest swif to improve student learning outcomes class VIIA SMP 7 Jember.
